Projects

High Performance Computational Processing in Practical Scientific Applications.

Description: The main objective of this project is to promote the development of techniques, methodologies, models, tools and parallel applications that can solve computational scientific problems in a faster and more efficient way, thus leveraging research developed in several areas of knowledge, using parallel programming and massively available distribution at a low cost.
2015 - 2017

PAC-GPU: Parallelization of Scientific Applications in GPU

Description: The PAC-GPU project aims to promote the development of techniques, methodologies, models, tools and parallel applications that can solve scientific problems faster and more efficiently on GPUs, leveraging the research developed in diverse areas of knowledge, using massively available parallel programming at a low cost. A number of scientific problems will be the subject of research.
2012 - 2014

PAC-CLUSTERS: Parallelization of Scientific Applications in Cluster of Computers

Description: The main idea of this project is to use parallel and distributed programming in computer clusters to solve problems commonly known in the different areas of knowledge that involve algorithmic complexity or large amount of data. Typically, these problems have hampered the progress of research in the respective areas due to the high time required for solution. In this sense, modeling and programming techniques will be used in conjunction with developer support tools to divide the resolution of a given time problem between several computers simultaneously, significantly reducing the time to obtain the results. This will allow, consequently, a larger number of experiments and the improvement of research quality. This project aims at the continuation of another project executed in the context of CAPES Pro-Equipment Announcement, of 2007, which acted in the solution of problems of Chemical Engineering. Now, in this present proposal, the efforts will be directed to solve problems of the Geography and consequently of the Applied Computing itself.
2009 - 2012
